The Kebab Shop

My wife and I were at the Otay Ranch Mall recently and were really hungry. We remembered that there was a new kebab restaurant here and decided to give it a try. We tried a chicken kebab plate that included rice and salad plus a drink. I really liked it specifically the chicken - it was juicy, tender and full of flavor. We are glad we have more options to dine out close to our home. We will be back.

It was pretty good. In terms of the taste of the food I have had better but that does not take away from the fact that the food tasted good. The place is nicely set up. Well lit. My complaints were that I saw one of the cooks pick up food that fell off onto the counter with his bare hands, no gloves, and then put the food back in with the regular items. Also my wife found a piece of charcoal of some sort in her food.

Tried this place for the first time last night. My sons each had a wrap and enjoyed it. My husband had the lamb plate, big portion, he liked it as well. I had the steak kabab plate, the steak was overdone and dry, almost grainy texture. The Greek salad looked amazing, but was surprised that they didn't have oil and vinegar to dress it (or any dressing at all). So I ate dry salad, which I am not a fan of. But, very friendly staff and super clean space.

My new favorite restaurant in the Otay Ranch area of Chula Vista. The family and I stopped in with a friend recently and fell in love with the food. The menu is simple to navigate and the friendly staff is helpful in answering any questions you may have about the various options. The food was nicely prepared, fresh and full of great Mediterranean and Arabian flavors. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service. I highly recommend The Kebab Shop to everyone reading my review!!!
