Super cute diner with amazing food! I had the special, banana bread french toast, and it was fantastic. In the past I've had the acaii bowl from their "walk up" and it was also amazing. If you want a seat make sure to make a reservation! For parking I recommend the free street parking by the beach and walking here.

Great coffee shop. Home cooked meals in an Americana setting. Non functioning juke boxes at every table with functional jukebox in corner. Loved the decor, reminded me of growing up in ‘50’s and ‘60’s. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient and their breakfasts in the morning were fantastic. I would highly recommend Clayton’s if you’re visiting or staying in Coronado.

I went during the week, so there was no line and I was seated immediately at the counter. Took a bit to get my menu but after that the service was top notch. Julia was my server and she kept my iced tea refreshed (it was delicious, too, must be freshly brewed). She’s even gave me a to go cup which was an added bonus. I ordered the “Dewey” which is grilled cheese, onions and 1000 Island dressing, and it came with fries. Only $8.95. My sandwich was perfectly cooked and gigantic — I couldn’t finish it all. Definitely a throwback to the 1940s/50s (place opened in 1941) with mini-jukeboxes at your table (they don’t seem to work however, but maybe the main jukebox does). Overall a really nice experience. Good food at reasonable prices on Coronado is a net positive. Will be back.

We went for breakfast on Saturday. There was a half hour wait. Good retro feel for a diner. Good customer service. Not a lot of options for vegetarians who don't eat egg. We had to end up having the basic avocado toast - my husband liked it a lot. And I ended up with a breakfast burrito with a few bell peppers. it was fine, not extraordinary.
    Their coffee was good enough.
The decor is good and gives an old vibe but food was normal. As I mentioned if you eat eggs you have a wider variety.
    Good place

Great diner. Easy location to find. We were seated promptly, and it seems that outside of the weekend it's easy to get a table here. (On the weekend there were so many people waiting we didn't bother). Food was exactly like you'd expect for a diner. Large portions, cooked fresh, served quickly and with a smile.
