Had an ice tea while waiting, which she refilled into a togo cup when my food was ready. The food was excellent and well packaged. We enjoy eating at this location, and now we will be able to order out with no problem.”

This produce the longer wait time than I feel should be necessary. But overall the environment was clean, peaceful, the salsas were well-stocked and cold and ready for use. “Long overdue review, I've visited this place several times (with people I work with). Waitresses are just great, the new young lady is great also. Always clean, in and outside seating. Great view of small planes and private jets coming in and out. It's a really neat cafe! The FOOD is yummy, tasteful and nice sided portions. The prices are decent and affordable! I totally recommend Gillespie Field Cafe for a quick bit to eat, it's comfortable and has a calm atmosphere!”

“This is an amazing amazing little hole in the wall deli. We stopped by here to pick up some sandwiches to take to a brewery after a long hike in Mission Trails, and it was well worth the detour. Customer service is outstanding and super friendly, menu has everything you could want, prices are super reasonable, and both sandwiches were delicious. “I'm not a barbecue expert and I usually don't care for barbecue sauce as it too sweet. So I got a beef sandwich to eat without any sauce. Unfortunately the meat was flavorless: no seasoning, no salt, no smoked taste. I was surprised since they have such a good reputation. In my limited barbecue experience I would judge a good barbecue place by how the meat tastes before you add any sauce. I doused it in Louisiana sauce but got tired of eating and didn't finish the sandwich. The coleslaw was excellent, crisp and flavorful. My husband loved his pulled pork sandwich, and my dad enjoyed his ham sandwich and pea soup.”

“I love this place, don't get over here as often as I'd like since I'm not living/working in the neighborhood any longer. I like their rolled tacos the best out of all the various local quick Mexican eateries (and I've tried most of them) One of the reasons I like Rancho Villa's the best is because they don't charge extra for lettuce and tomatoes, and they are not stingy, they put a generous amount of lettuce tomato and shredded cheese on top. You can order either beef or chicken rolled tacos. The guacamole is made fresh and is full of avocado, they don't mix sour cream in it, the sour cream is available separately. You can order them with the sauces on the side if you wish. For a small fee, you can also order larger portions of guacamole or sour cream. Another one of my favorite things about this restaurant is that their free salsa bar also includes free corn chips, which are available whether ordering dine in or take out. They have reduced the size of the bags for the take out option: they used to use the #4 paper bags, now they are #2 which are half the size. You can always fill an additional bag or two, especially if you have a larger party. There is a sign asking " please limit the amount of chips and salsa to that which will be consumed" - apparently there was too much waste (which of course would be costly for them if left unchecked) The service was, as always extra pleasant, I always get friendly service here. The meal was just as delicious as I remembered, I will definitely be back.”
