On the plus side, this is a pleasant and comfortable place with friendly staff and large portions. But I was disappointed that the things I had weren't particularly authentic, though they were OK in taste. Instead of the classic ham and swiss sandwich on white bread topped with browned bechamel sauce, their croque monsieur is made like a panini on a deli roll. Too bad because the original is so much better (and easier to eat). Likewise, their almond croissant is huge but it's filled with chopped almonds rather than the traditional marzipan or pastry cream filling. I'll keep trying elsewhere for authentic French food but in the meantime this place is OK if you're in the neighborhood.

Truly the BEST almond croissants on the planet - so Thankful for this an Encitas gem! I lived in Paris for a summer and the food here transports me back -but is even better- whether its a savory crepe lunch or getting her pastries for my house guests- its always a special treat !

Great coffee place with a lovely and friendly staff. I recommend the croissant and pain au chocolat which are in my opinion better than some you can find in France! I highly recommend them.

Quaint little bakery that's French owned. As I walked in the owner greeted me with a warm "Bonjour!". Felt a bit like I stepping back in time when I traveled thru France. All the pastries looked amazing. I had an apple strudel and they did not skimp on the servings! Also picked up some tasty Christmas peppermint cookies. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back!
