From the team/owners of Buona Forchetta in Leucadia, this place is so amazing! A different more casual concept but just as delicious. Reasonable prices, handmade pasta, and the most delicious pizza dough. Love the laid back vibe without sacrificing any quality. Service was great and really friendly. Overall, great concept, food and atmosphere. A must go!

YA GOTTA BE KIDDIN' ! This new Italian pizza joint is the NUMBER ONE HOT SPOT on the restaurant packed El Camino Real strip. My wife and I were here a few days ago for the 4th time. WE LOVE IT ! When we walked in about 6pm on Friday the place was already kinda busy. I said hi to Manuel the head chef and Yaya the cashier / acting manager on the night ( Angela the co-owner was doing double duty at the newly revamped Matteo in South Park ). First up I ordered a Modern Times Hazy IPA. This time we decided to change it up a bit and go with pasta dishes. My wife chose FETTUCINE BOLOGNESE and I went with the RAVIOLI GRATINATI ( Handmade cheese ravioli in vodka pink sauce ). Gee this joint is killing it....we saw an endless line of customers strolling in for take-out. My ice cold hazy IPA came out fast courtesy of Sandra our server and tasted very refreshing. Not long after our dinner orders arrived together courtesy of Misael the food runner....and looked totally delicious. My wife loved her Fettucine Bolognese..perfect texture and rich meaty sauce. I couldn't believe how good my Ravioli Gratinati tasted....beautiful creamy sauce full of flavor. The place was getting packed with diners by the minute. Seriously there is very little on this busy strip that can compete with the high quality pizza and pasta served here. We demolished our fabulous meals and wanted more. DESSERT ! My wife ordered the TIRAMISU and I went with SPUMONI. Wow our desserts were the perfect finish to a wonderful dinner. YA GOTTA TRY THIS PLACE...I'M NOT KIDDIN' !

YOU WANNA PIZZA THIS ! We were invited to the family & friends only soft opening last night or should I say they made us an offer we couldn't refuse ! Of course any restaurant that owner Matteo Cantaneo has his competent hands on is going to be a winner. My wife and I arrived around 6.15pm to see Forchettabouddit ( love the name ) lit up like a Xmas tree on the corner. We walked inside and were greeted very warmly by Angela the manager & part owner ( we have known Angela from Buona Forchetta and more recently Matteo in South Park for many years ) who was the one who invited us. It was lovely and warm inside the restaurant which has huge glass walls on 2 sides opening out onto a long outdoor patio with heaters. BEAUTIFUL SETUP ! Angela handed us menus and asked if we would like something to drink. A carafe of water and glasses arrived promptly. I decided on a Societe Brewing Co "The Pupil" IPA ( one of my favs ). They have some good craft beers on tap. The restaurant was slowly starting to fill up and yet Angela was taking care of everything by herself...amazing talent ! This is the 8th restaurant location of Matteo's we have been to...and there are more to come ! We asked Angela for her dinner recommendation...can't go wrong with MEATBALLS ( Beef and pork meatballs, marinara, parmigiano ) and from the NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA list we picked the STATEN ISLAND ( Spicy salami, calabrese, sausage, pepperoni ) in a 12 inch size. Check out the menu because you can buy pizza by the slice or whole pizzas in 12 inch / 18 inch sizes. GREAT CHOICE ! My ice cold IPA in a chilled glass arrived and tasted beautiful. I had barely sipped my beer when WHAMMO our Meatballs and Staten Island 12 inch pizza hit the table. MAN DID THEY LOOK MOUTHSATIONAL ! We hit those huge meatballs faster than the bullet train. Very delicious with top quality beef and pork. Talk about a good looking pizza...our Staten island pizza looked and tasted fabulous ! We made everything disappear. The restaurant was quite busy by this time and yet Angela was still whizzing around looking after things with some extra help. One of her helpers named Curt ( husband of superstar photographer Angelina ) dropped by to ask if we would like some dessert. NICE CHOICE AGAIN ! It could have been SPUMONI, CANNOLI or TIRAMISU. I think any one would have been great but we chose Tiramisu. Meanwhile a few people had turned up who we knew from Matteo's restaurants....our good friend Luca the manager from Gelati & Peccati in North Park. He is a partner in the business with Matteo and Giovanni. And then I was told Matteo was cooking in the kitchen so we hooked up to say hello. THIS GUY NEVER SLEEPS ! It was now very busy and a very charming young lady named Isabella ( Matteo's beautiful daughter ) brought a mouth watering serve of Tiramisu to our table. It tasted freshly made and perfectly delectable. OH WHAT A NIGHT !
