Cocina del Charro

Other people really like it. I haven't found anything I like overmuch. Americanized Mexican food in large helpings and sides, which is not what I like. I'm weird, I want small servings of one great tasting item. No, I don't want rice and beans. No, I don't want dessert. I eat the single best item at each restaurant. Why would I not eat the best item on the menu? (Actually, I prefer chips and salsa as a meal and only order an al a cart item because I feel guilty. )

Everything was great. The food, the beverages, and especially the atmosphere. Great place for dining or if you just wanna grab a drink. They got it all. There's even a private room for social gatherings and private parties.

My fiance and I had our rehearsal dinner there in their special banquet room. My goodness, we were treated like royalty. The events coordinator sat down with us one day and let us try as many different dishes as we wanted to pick out for our event. They even do it where you give them a rough head count and then they charge you by the number who show up. Best deal around! My family has been going to Cocino del Charro for 20+ years and absolutely love it.

This is the best Mexican Food I have eaten in California! They have two locations; one in Escondido, and one in San Marcos.
We go to the original one in Escondido, which was remodeled, and I have heard the one in San Marco's has been remodeled also. Escondido location is a lovely place, and you can eat inside or out. Also have a big banquet room as well. Prices are reasonable, food is excellent and customer service is great. Go see them!
