Petite Madeline Bakery

I've been here for breakfast about 6 times. Keep trying because I really want to love this place, but food and service is very inconsistent. Everything time it's a different issue. Yesterday, my crepe order sat on the counter about 5 minutes waiting to be brought over. Meanwhile, my friend had her meal way ahead of me. The specialty coffees are served just lukewarm, so must ask to have them served hot. The regular menu items are generally very good, but the board special item just wasn't good for either person in our group who ordered it. The best deal is if you're just going to buy counter bakery items, or if you're lucky in the dining room.

I wandered in one beautiful day shortly before closing to eye the bakery and assess whether my husband and I should stop in for breakfast. We will...definitely! The single serving cheesecakes were works of art and staff was most helpful. Leaving with an additional coconut macaroon (GF!) I enjoyed relaxing by the Oceanside library fountain just across Coast Hwy 1 from the entrance. Our cheesecake made a lovely dessert for two. Reasonably priced; really does taste ‘from scratch’.

My favorite spot for my iced coffee. I probably tried most local spots but this by far is the best and cheapest. Great french pastries and cakes

I really like the pastries here they are quite delicious, but I feel like they kind of jack the prices just because they're downtown. there's a place on Mission Avenue next to the police station that is just as delicious but a tad more reasonable. They have my business now.

This place is a hidden gem and trust me it's not hidden. Fantastic coffees, delicious pastries and baked goods but that's not all they have. Full breakfast menu and lunch. Smiles everywhere, even when they first open and coffee hasn't kicked in yet, they're smiling. Ownership here does it right. Great place.
