Felix's BBQ with Soul

We absolutely love this place. We generally come down to the Carlsbad area every year ...missed last year. But we always hit Felix's. We both had catfish, after an order of fried green tomatoes. All of it was top shelf..oh and the complementary corn muffins. Service excellent as always! We will be back!????????

I grew up on the Wabash River... and Catfish was my favorite childhood food. Felix's is without a doubt the best Catfish in San Diego County. They buy excellent ingredients... and they know how to cook!

My favorite sides are Collard Greens, Braised Cabbage, and Mac N Cheese. In the dozen or so times I've eaten here I can't get away from the Catfish... it's that good. But, guests dining with me have raved about the Pulled Pork, the ribs and the Red beans and rice. There are not many soul food restaurants in North County... but Felix's is the best...not because of the lack of competition... they just deliver excellent food and excellent service,

Positives: Rare to find this type of food in this area. Fried Okra, Catfish, delicious sweet corn cakes! Great variety of other items on menu: BBQ pork, beef, ribs. Great coleslaw dressing! Sweet potato fries! Cajun pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. , All meals are ample servings, delicious, cooked to perfection! Competitive pricing. Very friendly staff that have tenure. To go containers are quality, good closure--no spill.Negatives: Can't think of any except occasionally there is a wait as large groups, teams, etc. arrive for meals but restaurant is going to be expanding into adjacent space soon.

Nice selection of food. Not just BBQ but comfort food as well. Service has always been great when I've been there. The staff is quite friendly and courteous. They will even bring you it a small sample of something to try if you're not sure.

Heck, the other customers we've bumped into there have been quite friendly too. Food is served in a timely manner. Pretty fun place to go, try it out sometime.

One of our favorite restaurants! The food is amazingly delicious every time. We have our favorite server Julie. She is super sweet and an excellent server. She is always busy and manages to keep your drinks full and get guests satisfied. We love her!
