Fat BBQ Shack Express

Heard about this local spot from some friends who swear by the food, so had to give it a try.

This review is based off the brisket burger and service, maybe some of the other menu items are better.

First the service:
There were a few customers already waiting when I placed my order so I expected a bit of a wait, but 35 minutes is more than I would expect for no line and maybe 3 orders before mine. One of the employees son ordered after me and kept sticking his unmasked face into the interior and talking, regardless of what their opinion of the health crisis is it's terrible to
look like the business doesn't value their customers health.

The food:
The Brisket was cooked perfectly, tender and still juicy, but the marinade had an overpowering flavor of liquid smoke ruining the natural flavor of the meat. There was sauce on the sandwich when I was told they only put the sauce on the side.

Overall not great especially considering the $15 price, but they do know their way around a smoker.

Great food but had to wait 30 minutes after ordering.. But still worth it. Hopfully they will show me some love next time I come back...

Finally,a place that offers REAL BBQ. The sandwiches are GREAT. I've only had BBQ from Texas once, thought it was great. Not sure why there aren't restaurants that offer southern BBQ. The brisket, sausage, and burnt ends are GREAT. The people that own the food stand are awesome as well.

I heard about this place through the nextdoor app so I figured I'd give it a try. There were a few people there and I waited around for about 7 minutes without the fine folks at fat BBQ even saying hi. I might try it another time, we'll see. Happy to drive on down the street to get something else to eat.

I'm review might be different if I go there and actually get service.

A friend of mine and I stopped by there today and have quite the different story to tell. The folks were right courteous and the service was quick and the food was great. ????

Really awesome BBQ! The brisket and burnt ends were sooo good! The beans have lots of meat in them and a wonderful sauce and the mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. Can't wait to go back and check out more of their menu!
