World Famous

Got to San Diego after a long day of driving. Literally googled “restaurant” looking along the beach. Started looking at all the great reviews for World Famous. When we arrived the place looks amazing. Great atmosphere. Great design. Ordered Salmon Truffle Mac and Cheese, and a Shrimp Bowl dish. Both blew us away!!! Got so much food for the money we spent. Some of the best food i have eaten. Especially at 10 pm on a random Thursday night. Definitely a must eat place

Came in not knowing too much about the place. There are two areas: the restaurant and bar. Restaurant prefers reservations but the bar allows you to order smaller portions and immediate seating. I ordered a fish taco and calamari taco which were quite tasty! Little bit noisy but the ocean view is awesome!

We had dinner twice while on vacation. Its a nice layout. Adequate bar area, glassed in beach view tables and a dining room inside too. Food was decent. Service seemed a little out of sync. Tv's for football and a great 1/2 price happy hour...(crowded).

My friend and I met for breakfast, which we ate in the oceanfront terrace to enjoy the view of the high surf. My California omelette was quite tasty and the coffee free-flowing. This is a classic PB institution with reliable and good but not outstanding food. You go there to enjoy the view but discover surprisingly decent food and drink which is often absent from tourist hot spots on the boardwalk. Definitely among the better choices along the boardwalk.

Extremely popular breakfast place. Be prepared to wait awhile for breakfast. Lunch is much less of a wait and not so busy especially during regular week day. Many tables have good views of the ocean side, even some of the tables that are in the "indoor" (non patio) area. Quiet, good service, good food, reasonable prices. Overall a great place to eat.
