I met up with a friend for lunch at the Bar-B-Q House bar and grill. In addition to half pound and one pound meat entrees, they also had fish dishes and vegan burgers, of which I ordered a vegan burger with French fries. There is an unlimited soda machine, with Coke products. After lunch, we strolled along the Ocean Beach boardwalk, passing by vendors who sold rings and necklaces. The BBQ House has additional parking in the rear of the restaurant.

Hesitant to share best-kept secrets but the bbq at BBQ House is way better than that chain of bbq restaurants (you know which one). The ribs are meatier and tender, the sides are way better, AND there’s corn bread here! The BEST corn bread! The peach cobbler brings me back to my southern roots. The customer service is outstanding. Carissa is very attentive, friendly, and makes you feel at home.

I've been here twice in the past week. Just for the sloppy Joe. Without hyperbole, this is the best bbq sandwich I've had ever on SD or even across the board over the past 5 years. I have to try more of the menu, but still can't stop thinking about this particular sandwich. It's the brisket ends, not ground meat. It contains no chunks of gristle or fat.... it's just pure meaty goodness. The spicy sauce rocks. Daughter had the mashed potatoes and gravy. Very good.
Onion rings are the best I've had in years. Crispy cornmeal breaded, damn... I'm an instant fan. This BBQ joint is southerner approved.

Good food/drink specials during the week. Great sandwiches. Staff is very friendly. Casual atmosphere both inside and out. Great assortment of beers and specialty drinks. Location is great except it can get busy/crowded on weekends and some holidays like New Year's Day. They can also get busy during the Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoons.
