The "Fish sandwich" here caught me by surprise. Its really a tuna fish sandwich. The sandwich is good with ample amounts of tasty "tuna" . The bread is excellent and complements the tuna. In addition , the lunch combo comes with a side of New England Clam chowder. Both the soup and sandwich were good. However, on this visit, what is really Memorable here is sitting outside on a bright spring day in the historic Gas Lamp quarter of San Diego. Its within close walking distance of the US Grant Hotel, Horton Plaza, SD symphony, and Civic Center. Recommend sitting outside. On days such as today (first day of Spring) can experience the culture, diverse peoples , and hustle of a large California city.
I am unsure why this restaurant isn’t a full 5 stars because this place is overall splendid. The service was absolutely amazing! Our waiter, Max, was fantastic. The whole staff was very friendly and honest about everything. The food, it may seem pricey but definitely worth the $$. Price is fabulous for the amount of food you get! Definitely will need a box. In particular, I got the “Plancha” and was only $56 and for sure a shareable. If you don’t come to this restaurant, you are truly missing out! My new favorite place.
On a Wednesday night, my girlfriend and I came in for an intimate dinner. We were greeted with our waiter, Max, who made the experience something really special. Great place! Best seafood house in San Diego hands down! Must try!!!!
The food is awesome. One of the best seafood restaurants i have ever been to. I ordered three dishes and all of them were really good. I started off with clam chowder and bacon with Brussels sprouts. I have had clam chowder in at least 20 places in Boston, San Francisco, LA, Maine, etc.and this one was THE BEST. The bacon and Brussels sprouts was awesome as well. I finally finished off with a pastrami melt. Surprisingly the melt was also very good. I will surely go there the next time i am in the neighborhood .
The food was good and fresh. They have good service as well. My friends and I visited San Diego on Dec. 24 and it was one of the few oyster bars open. We got there during happy hour, before 6:30 pm, and got oysters for $1.25 each. The mussels on the happy hour menu came with fries and was a good portion. Five coconut shrimps for $18 was a little pricey.
