Food is so good! The people who work there are very friendly and accommodating

The food was pretty good, but the service needed improvement. The first thing I noticed was our waitress taking everyone's drink order at our table except for mine. I had to wait until she delivered everyone else's drinks before I could order a drink for myself. Then, when I asked if we could get some more silverware (some people at our table did not have any), it never came. 15 minutes later and after our food arrived, we asked someone else for silverware and received it promptly. Service from others was fine, which is why this isn't a two-star rating. The restaurant wasn't even half full when we entered. So, I'm not sure what was going on.

Great traditional Mexican food... Maybe a little Mexico City influence. As you can see by the photos, each item was very well presented, and each of us loved our meals. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The dining area was remarkably spotless too. The bar area appears to be excellent as well although we did not visit that this time. They do have an extensive list of tequilas on the menu. I recommend El Zarape for the next time you are looking for something a little different in Mexican food.

One of the best kept secrets in San Diego! I love this place! I know there are an insane amount of Mexican food restaurants to choose from, but I'd put this near the top especially for pricing, quality of food and rarely a wait! Taco Tuesday specials are great and the drinks are so strong! (Mouth is watering as I write this!)
