The Duck Dive

This is a popular bar on Mission Blvd with open patio seating on Emerald St with a bit of a view of Pacific Beach and a nice breeze coming from the ocean. They were busy at lunch but the bartender came frequently to our table to take our order and check that everything was OK and continued to check on us the whole time of our leisurely meal. And everything was OK and fine. We had an avocado toast that was beautiful and delicious as well as a very tasty Turkey Bacon Avocado & tomato sandwich. Speedy friendly service!

Really fun, busy place. Stopped by on St. Patrick's Day "weekend." Good music, feel of open air dining, fresh menu, fun place ...service today bordered on "just okay." Parking is always a challenge in beach communities (about a block from the ocean), and today with all the celebrations going on, was no exception. So, leave extra time in your schedule to find a place to park! For Saturday lunch with a celebratory cocktail, $$-$$$.

I dropped in for dinner and to watch a game last week, and returned the next night because I thought the food and service were both outstanding.

I wish I could remember the bartender's name who served me both night. He deserves a shout out. Glassed, big guy, friendly. He was spot on on every recommendation. He was particularly right about the salsa...green, warm, and fresh. It's awesome.

Not from San Diego, but I look forward to returning!

Good place for young crowds. The menu doesn't have a large variety of options. The food is fair but the service a bit slow. A good sports bar. Best ambiance is probably at night.
