I really enjoyed their location on University in North Park last year and was in the SDSU area so I tried this branch out.
This location is spacious with plenty of seating. It is about a year old, looks great and is very clean.
I had a large Poke Bowl with tuna, salmon, shrimp, crabmeat, avocado, edamame etc.
It was great like the last time at Poke 1.5. Everything is fresh, high quality with alot of choices...can't beat it.
Service by Manager Jennifer was outstanding. She is a very friendly and skilled manager as I was there during the lunch rush and the place was running like a swiss watch.
After visiting 2 of their properties I rate Poke 1.5 my favorite Poke Bowl chain(4 locations in SDC and OC)in southern California.
They should open some stores in LA County.
Congratulations team.
I see this place as a great compromise for sushi but even better because you choose exactly what you want to go in and then you just mix it up and it's beautiful. Staff are always really kind. Smallest size will fill the average person up.
Food was fresh and did not taste fishy. Everyone was very efficient, and the place was very clean and not too crowded. Parking is a little difficult, but you can park in the parking lot near Trader Joe's, then get validated parking for 45 minutes.
This was my first experience with Poki, and I really enjoyed it. The place is clean, bright, and inviting. The food was all very fresh... It's kind and of a "choose your own" type of place. They offer many options and then assemble your bowl for you as you select the ingredients... Like Subway... The people were helpful at the counter. I recommend this place for sure. Note that parking is available for a fee in a structure across the side street. O think it cost about $2 for the time that we visited, but we got validated by making some purchase at trader Joe's. Have fun!
Lunch costs about $12-$13 for a bowl. Bit pricey, but it's good. I believe if you're a fan of sushi you'll enjoy this spot.
