Hennessey's Tavern

Visiting the La Jolla area from AZ for a wedding in the cove, I brought the groom to Hennessy’s night before wedding so we could spend some quality time together. Then I came back day of wedding before evening reception to have a couple beers before my best-man speech nearby. ???? Both visits were very pleasant, Sat night had a good band and bartenders were all very friendly. Next day same, very friendly staff. The groom brought his wife here after wedding he enjoyed it so much. Prices are great, especially for the area. Good example of how a pubs management directs the staff to be customer oriented and provides great environment. They have a nice fire pit in the front room next to bar area too. This place has it all, I’ll be back every time I visit my newly married friend! ????????????????????????

If you go for happy hour, avoid the mixed drinks and order beer or wine. Great drinks all around, but I'll just say there was a significant difference in the amount of alcohol used to make the Irish Mules I ordered after happy hour ended. Otherwise a great space with friendly staff.

Really nice spot. Met up with some friends here. Enjoyed indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of foods and drinks.

Comfortable place for gatherings. They have about 4 different areas with one having a fireplace. The atmosphere is relaxing. Food is excellent and is amazing with the beers. If you are the type who enjoys fatty food with their beer, this is the place to be. If not, then it would be best to stay away from this location. It is extremely tempting to eat their food with the alcohol. I have no complaints with the place.

We had excellent service with Wendy when we visited. She was a joy! The food is good. We sat at a table that was a bench on one side, the bench was a little high for the table and not very comfortable. There was live music when we were there which was very nice and not overly loud. Would eat here again.
