Come here if you want high quality mainland Chinese style Chinese food. This restaurant is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Flavors are deep and delicious. Portions are generous. It would be helpful to know a bit of mandarin if you want to make substitutions. This is probably the best Chinese food restaurant I’ve found in San Diego County. (Their menu is mostly not american Chinese food (PF Changs, Panda Express, etc.) or Vietnamese-Chinese fusion (777 noodle house, Nha Hang Quoc Te, etc.) like many other places in SD).
Reservations are highly recommended. There have been lines here since they opened. Familiar Chinese dishes and ones I've never had before like smoked fish tails and chicken and pork stomach soup. New flavors and preparations make this a must-visit place.
New place. Like the eggplant. But overall it just average. Slow.
