This Denny’s kind of smelled inside for a moment, but either we acclimated, or it dissipated. Either way, the $2 for two pancakes was exactly why I wanted to go, and then the Club Sandwich (which now comes on whole grain bread) except I prefer it on sourdough. The Denny’s Club has been my go-to ever since I was a little girl. The fries are new; they have ridges, and came hot with the perfect amount of salt! If you want more pancakes, there’s an unlimited option for $4.
Getting better. New peppercorn steak can actually compete. Good service
Told waitress not to ring up my order till I find the 20 0/0 discount appt. Plus also wanted to make sure my card went through before making the order. She called it in to the cook & rang it in before I had done either. Then my prime rib steak was well & not med rare, that came w/ the Cobb salad. Gave her all the tip change I had for that $0.31.
A Denny's is a Denny's, for the most part. This one was clean and had very nice servers, so I was satisfied, but the food leaves quite a bit to be desired. The eggs were cooked how I wanted them (scrambled loose/wet), which is more than I can say for many places, but the bacon and sausage links were nothing special. Neither were the pancakes. With so many excellent breakfast options in San Diego and not as big a price difference as you would hope, there aren't really a whole lot of reasons to come to a Denny's unless it is convenient or you have a good coupon.
Centrally located in Mission Valley (San Diego), this is the perfect place to have small meetings with friends who live South, North or East. There is a lot of construction on and around Friars Road, so be forewarned. Construction in San Diego is neverending, so it should be temporary in any location. By the way, the food is excellent. Try their chicken garden salad. It's terrific!
