THE LOT La Jolla

The place is gorgeous. Not a lot of parking. The food we ordered was good, but it came when the movie had started so we couldn't really see what it looked like. I had told the server that I had a gift card I wanted to use to pay for the food and so he said he would come back before he ran my card. A little ways into the movie I turned like light for the server to come so we could order more stuff. The server (not our original server) took about 5-10 minutes to get to us. I ordered popcorn and the popcorn never came. Towards the end of the movie the server brought our check and left. He charged the full amount on my card although I had told him I had a gift card I wanted to use. There server never came back for the ticket so I had to go out and talk to a manager. Don't know that I would go back...

The lot is an upscale fusion between dining and the movies. Its similar to places like Angelika, but it differs in the sense that it truly goes the extra mile to give you the 'upscale' experience and does not cut corners like many of it's competitors do. If you are looking for a new take on movie night and your willing to pay a bit extra, I would definitely recommend The Lot.

Cool spot to catch a movie. Staff was very friendly and fun. Forget the bartenders name but they all were great conversationalists. Theatre was clean, comfortable and a very clear screen. I continue to frequent this place for movies

This place has a really cool modern vibe and I love the fact that the vibe extends to the movie theatre. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food came out pretty quickly during the movie. The staff was also very courteous to ensure their service did not disrupt the movie. I would recommend not showing up more than 15 minutes before your movie because they only put which theatre you are in 15 minutes before the show time. If you want to show up early, however, you can get drinks from the bar out near the restaurant. Loved my experience, can't wait to come back!

Fun night at the movies. The bar is a great place to relax before the movie. The seats in the theater are lovely. The food & beverage service was really good. We only had beverage on this trip, so no report on the food, but it looked good as it was delivered to our neighbors.
