This place is always good. Huge beer selection, very good food and the ambiance is really good. Too bad they don't always have the tomato bisque. That thing is amazing. I love their garlic fries but insist they make it fresh for you. Their porkchop is my favorite dish. The pretzels are pretty good for appetizer.
Great deal for brunch for only $27. Good food and comes with a beer or unlimited mimosas. Would recommend going on a Saturday to avoid a bigger crowd and wait. We were able to sit and drink for a few hours.
This was our first time here and being from Seattle when I ordered the salmon I was wondering how it was going to be. IT WAS GREAT, cooked correctly (it was still moist in the middle and nice and flaky. Not over done). The overall look of the place was nice, especially the coy pond and the deck. Was not too noisy and we could carry on a conversation without yelling at each other.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and took time to explain things.
Next time we are in San Diego we will be back. Oh yes, their IPA was good, but still can't beat the Pacific NW IPA's
Love, love, love everything about this Karl Strauss location. I could sit here for hours and enjoy the great service, awesome brews and fine dining—not to mention the always great weather and the relaxed, laid back atmosphere. There’s not a beer, not an item on the menu that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. If I have to pick a favorite beer, it’s the golden stout — 9 Bonfires Blazing. I would gain some serious girth, but I could happily live here. It’s a good thing there are a couple thousand miles between Karl Strauss and me.
