Very nice owner and courteous staff. The chicken kebob was very delicious, the Kobideh was good, but a little dry. They had outdoor seating which was nice. Overall a nice dining experience.
San Diego is my hometown. Although I often saw this place, I never visited until last week helping a friend from Iran move to San Diego. Staff were friendly and well-informed. I enjoyed the vegetables options I was able to order. My friend called the kebab excellent.
Simple kebabs, salads and sides from 'Persia' (Iran). Been coming here for years and it seems things have become more... bland over time. The flavors used to jump off the plate with every component, the meats more succulent, the salads more complex. The prices used to match the lusciousness of the dishes. Now there's quite a disjoint between what you get and the cost. My baseline criteria for any restaurant is that I want the experience to be something I can't recreate on my own. This I could easily recreate.
Darband is a great place to dine. The employees there are pleasant and the atmosphere is casual - almost like the local neighborhood place to eat. The menu has a very good variety of Persian food in decent servings (you won't go hungry here). There are also desserts and free tea. If anyone wants an enjoyable dining experience quite unique this is the place to go.
This place was ok. Can not recommend. Food came out seeming very basic and was expensive considering.
