The food at Felix's is amazing, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere is very pleasant!!! There's always good music, whether it be live jazz, a DJ, or even just Pandora. My favorite dish are the Alabama Chicken Wings; I like 2 fried and 2 fried dipped in barbecue sauce. My man loves the catfish, fried or grilled. The sides are delicious and they give you nice portions; that's important to me because I love to eat!!!
The catfish is top notch. I'm really a big fan of their cornbread muffins. I really enjoyed their breakfast menu. I had a big piece of catfish, grits, egg, and cornbread muffins all for a fantastic price. The breakfast was big portions that was well worth the money. This is the best place for catfish in all of San Diego that I have tried to date. Hope to see their quality stay the same over the years (which is great by the way).
The restaurant in San Diego is a hit or miss spot. I prefer going for dinner. In my experience, the service and food is usually better then. I've ordered lunch to go a couple of times and I wasn't pleased. I usually get the fried catfish. I tried the Alabama fried chicken once and didn't like it. The cornbread muffins are good. The restaurant in Oceanside service is usually better, but they don't have a bar.
Great place for drinks with friends and family. BEST pulled pork sandwiches for miles. The cornbread is to die for..........when its hot and fresh. Haven't tried everything but so far so good! Parking close can be a challenge but worth it. Had two wonderful waiters for our large party and they were patient, attentive, and courteous the entire time.
Went to Felix for dinner with three friends. Great food... great service.. excellent atmosphere. I am from the south. Being at Felix is like being in a restaurant in New Orleans, Mobile or any place down home where everything is good.
PS. Try the black Eyed Peas.. you will know what I mean.
