Main Chick

So addicting! This is already my 4th time coming here since they opened 2 weeks ago. I highly recommend their dark meat sandwich or leg quarter. I’ve tried so many Nashville hot chicken places in LA and SD but this is the only place that offers dark meat and it’s BOMB! IMO this is by far the best hot chicken in town! I don’t know what other haters are talking about but once u try it you’ll know who’s legit and who’s not!

Overall, everything was great, the fries were amazing the sauces were good and they really figured out a way to make the spice their own thing with even medium spice sending you running for milk. The only thing was the way they spiced the chicken, it was completely coated in it and it ruined the experience, it was rolling off on my fingers and it felt like I was biting into sand. That was my only issue.

Main Chick Hot Chicken has been open for about a week, so I had to try out this new chicken spot. I ordered combo #2. It has 2 chicken sandwiches and crinkle fries. As far as the spice level, I chose the Spicy level of heat. The hottest level is called Supreme, and it requires a waiver before consuming that one. I would have liked to sample the Supreme before I ordered my food, but the young lady said that it was not possible. I’ve been able to sample sauces at other chicken restaurants, but maybe covid 19 policies has something to do with it. The seasoning of the chicken was spot on. I also enjoyed the sauce that came with the fries. My family enjoyed the chicken tenders and mac and cheese (not pictured). They said that the mac and cheese was creamy and well made. In addition, I would say that the customer service was great. The people that worked there were friendly and helpful. The price point seems to be a bit higher than most places for similar portioned and quality chicken. The location is ideal, so maybe when the adjacent movie theater reopens, there will be more traffic through this area. If you are in the area, try it out! It was a great filling meal for me. Eat up!!!

One of the best fried chicken spots I’ve ever had!! For me, Main Chick BEATS Dave’s hot chicken because I feel like it has more flavor to it. Also the sauces are amazing as well. Definitely my new favorite hot chicken spot.

Good food but unbelievably expensive for what you get. Basically every fried chicken place in San Diego is a better value than this one. I miss Chicken Charlie’s. At least we still have Crack Shack (which is about the same price as this place but much better!)
