Don't order the waffle if your expecting a normal deep crispy waffle. What you will receive is an old style smallish thin caky presentation. Oh, I was told Perry's can not be bothered serving free peanutnuter with their pancakes, toast, and waffles because there have not been enough customer requests.
Perry’s Cafe is in the heart of Old Towne San Diego, CA. Love this place. All time favorite breakfast spot in SD! If you are on travel and you would like an authentic 1950’s style dinner this is your place. They do have lunch items but I’ve only had the breakfast. French toast and pancakes are ENORMOUS!! Definitely enough to share with leftovers.
Decided to just go have breakfast Va cooking it myself and what a great decision on a Sunday morning. Went out with my date and we had the chicken fried steaks and country fried steak with hash brown and or home fries as you can see in the picture I like hot sauce, lol. But overall great vibe and the food was amazing, finger licking, didn’t take long and best of all lots of parking available.
Will share pictures.
This was my first time dinning at Perry's. My first impression, even before arriving, is the size of their parking lot. A quick look on Google Maps in the satellite view will reveal the parking. I was in my full size, extended cab pickup. Parking was a breeze...
Inside, I took a spot at the counter. The receptionist quickly asked in a friendly manner with a smile if I wanted somthing to drink . The Decaf coffee was good, black, without creamer/add-ins. A bit pricey at $3.75. However, my server Angie, kept my cup full without my having to ask. She, and the entire staff are friendly and cordial with customers and each other. I ordered Biscuits & Gravy with scrambled eggs on top. When I was a kid in the mid-west this was "Country Scrambled." Even though it's not on the menu, Angie got the cooks to make it just as I rember. It tasted great, good biscuts, good hardy sausage gravy (I prefer a white flower gravy but their's is good). The bacon was crispy without being burnt...
I would recommend that they have the bushes out front trimmed. They are hiding the Perry's sign...
Thank you Angie for a pleasant dinning experience. I will be back... 😎✝️🙏
This is a typical American home-cooked restaurant. The service is friendly and the food is overall good. The ice americano is that it is too soft and the taste is not good. If you order a different drink, you can eat better food. I think muffin is made by themselves and the muffin is not too sweet and it is delicious.
