On October 4th, we dined at the Quixote restaurant, beautifully nestled within the Lafayette Hotel. The ambiance of the restaurant is intricately decorated, filled with nuances and details that transport you to a distinct era. The staff was notably polite, and our table was promptly set for our meal, demonstrating their dedication to swift service.
Having already indulged in a few drinks at the hotel's pool bar, we decided to skip the beverage offerings at Quixote and head straight for the main course. Our culinary choices for the evening were the "Whole Grilled Fish" and the "Crispy Lamb Belly". Both dishes were exemplary, tantalizing our taste buds with their impeccable seasoning and delightful textures. Notably, the portion sizes were quite generous, comfortably serving three individuals.
However, a slight drawback was the restaurant's lighting. The Quixote has three separate dining areas, and the section where we were seated was markedly dim. While I believe this might be part of the intended dining experience, a tad more illumination would enhance the ambiance, especially considering we need to see our food to enjoy it fully.
In conclusion, the Quixote offers a captivating dining experience enriched with culinary prowess and a unique setting, albeit with room for improvement in its lighting aesthetics.
We arrived at Quixote for our reservation and where seated promptly. Our server was nice and made us feel welcomed.
From the moment you enter the door you are transported to a old mission style church straight out of a diablo game. Very dark moody and ominous. Most of the place is candle lit and it just gives this very cozy dark vibe.
The way it works here in terms of food is they have a couple of small dishes and the mains are big enough to share.
We ordered the Scallop Aguachile , Squash Blossom, and the main we ordered the Crispy Lamb Belly.
The Food was all Quality, Every Dish was in line with what we would expect from a well made dish. Flavors where on point and everything was delicious. The Lamb belly was the star of the show, we enjoyed every bite.
My wife ordered A Mezcal Drink called a vibras which she enjoyed as well.
Over all it was a great experience, and well you definitely pay a premium for the cool location and well done theming, we just felt that the overall cost was just a tab bit on the expensive side.
We spontaneously decide to check this place out. We were seated immediately and we’re in awe of the church decor. The hostesses and waitstaff were all so nice and attentive, especially Sarah, our server. She did an excellent job of explaining the menu and made our experience there so enjoyable.
The food was surprisingly delicious. We got 4 appetizers, the spicy shrimp taco, scallop aguachile, duck carnita and octopus. My favorites were the octopus and duck carnita. I will definitely be back!
Very, very dark. Which was odd for lunch. Excellent guacamole and tacos. The octopus was a little chewy, not crisp, and very spicy.
Great vibe. Delicious food. The crab doughnut was our favorite. Ceviche was fresh. Guacamole was good. Drinks were tasty. Fondue was flavorful. Garlic shrimp taco was so well seasoned and put together. Desserts were also great. Will be back.
