The Red Door

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 23rd Wedding Anniversary as we have years prior. Red Door does not disappoint! My hubby had the Beef Wellington which was excellent. Everything we had was so fresh and flavorful. Thank you for another memorable meal.

Without doubt, one of the most honest and unique restaurants in San Diego. Great cuisine, well priced, attentively served (even in the milieu of Covid), this is the epitome of a fine city restaurant. The chef will ask all diners how they liked the food, and on many nights, suggest unique items not on the menu. For example, tonight we had a whole fish served for two with a sauce of olives and tomatoes with basil, thyme, cipolli onions and Yukon gold potatoes. Every day is different, and every day can bring a surprise. This is European dining brought thoughtfully and properly to America.

We LOVE The Red Door and have been eating dinner here for quite sometime.

It's the perfect place with great food and an amazing ambiance. Luciano, the Chef & Owner has a heart of gold and he really goes out of his way in order to make you feel welcome in his restaurant.

The service is always prompt and attentive and it really has a neighborhood vibe with a lot of character.

It's definitely one of our favorite places to eat in San Diego!!!

Went here for the first time with some friends.
I’d definitely come back here and total respect for the Owner/Chef. He checked up on us on how the food was and we obviously gave good feedback since the quality of the food was amazing. The way he lit up and smiled, I saw that he is very passionate towards every meal he makes.
The portion is perfect from Appetizers, to the Main course, and of course... DESSERTS!
The Tiramisu is to die for! I can’t wait to go back soon!

Perfect customer service. Server, chef / owner and all staff were working hard and engaging. Truly this starts with efforts at the top.

Wine list is sufficient, with prices and tastes all across the board.

Food and menu was good, but felt like Italian cuisine made for the American palate. Which is fine since that's where we are.

Lucky to have black truffles offered with our risotto. But REALLY large dish, more than needed for two people.

Lamb shank was good too. Good to see chocolate clams offered.

Will be back, but made mistake not having house made pasta...as is my favorite.
