Buona Forchetta - San Marcos

We were greeted at the door and asked if we had reservations. We didn't and were expecting to be sat at a less than ideal table. Instead we were led to a table with beautiful plush blue chairs. We were brought water immediately followed by bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. The waitress described some of the best items and we decided on trying the potato, leek and garlic soup and grilled artichoke hearts. We were blown away by the artichokes. The soup was less than flavorful until sprinkled with parmesan and then it popped.

We will definitely be back.

Food was great. Had cioppino, was tasty, lots of seafood. Portion was plenty, took half of it home. Prices in line, food reasonable , my glass of wine was over $10 but that's fairly normal for an upscale restaurant. I have a hard time with that anywhere considering a bottle of the same wine at Costco is $15 or $20, whatever. We ordered dessert which, again was very good, but it took a long time to bring because they were understaffed for dessert chefs. Otherwise good experience, will go back

Thank you Simone and his wife! (Sorry I will get your name next time! 😂) Marco runs an excellent restaurant!! Came here to celebrate my birthday. This restaurant has the fastest service I have ever gotten. This is REAL authentic Italian food. Best Italian restaurant in SoCal.

Nice surprise of a place. I was in town visiting a friend and this turned out to be a nice more upscale plaza with a few other places around. The area does give me upscale college vibes- more modern and stylized.

Great pasta! They have a lot of options as well as an option for homemade egg noodles which is a personal favorite.

There is a great ice cream shop across the street in the work share too to top off the night

We love it here. The food is fantastic. The outdoor seating is the best, 2nd is sitting at the bar, 3rd is indoor table seating but this place is so welcoming there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's right in north city. The wine list is extensive. The food is really really good.
