Phil's BBQ

Phils BBQ is a San Diego BBQ staple. The overall food quality is consistent with the other locations. This location has shorter lines and larger parking lot. They have a good selection of beers. They also can cater your party. If you're tired of waiting in line in the Sports Arena location then go here instead!

Love their beef ribs... ???????? their tangy bbq sauce is to die for. The beef ribs are meaty unlike some other places. The portions are generous and its worth the price. The staff was very friendly. The establishment is clean. Mid day is a great time to come because its not too crowded. If you are planning to go for dinner, be prepared to wait for a little bit.

Good BBQ for California. Super busy if you go at dinner time. I drive by and chose not to go in one night at 8pm. I tried the next night after 9 and it was easy to get in. I would like to see more variety and different combo options. I like to try a little of everything but it seemed pretty expensive to try to put together a sampler. The add-on prices were pretty steep in my book. I also didn't understand why the beef rib price is so high since when I make my own they are often cheaper then baby backs. Maybe they were meatier then what I buy. Not sure since I went the cheaper option. I ate a lot of BBQ when I spent time in Texas and it was all better and cheaper but like I said earlier this was pretty good for California.

There can be a line sometimes but when you make it in, it's worth it.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Managers are always on the lookout in order to give you a great experience. Drink menu goes well with the food. This is a family restaurant so no crazy people. If you into getting wasted this is not for you.
