Loved it. I had never been. It's a small, hometown-feel diner/cafe with a lot of Character. Food was great. Service too. And it's only a hop, skip & a jump from Fletcher Beach Park on the sand/at the ocean. I can't speak to their lunch but breakfast was very good. I'll definitely come back (when in the area).

Great food and a 'feels like home ' atmosphere. Fantastic and friendly staff. I'll definitely come back here when I'm in the area.

Hide Away Cafe is reminiscent to an age of local restaurants, the type where the owner knows everyone by name and they still garnish with parsley. Hide Away Cafe is a small shack literally in a parking lot right next to Fletcher's Cove by the ocean. There's one tiny room with several small tables, a counter for the workers, a tiny back kitchen, and an outdoor patio with 4-5 small tables.

The one server on staff will guide you to sit anywhere and soon she will appear taking your order. It's a large menu for such a small space and they can whip up almost any breakfast item you can imagine.

I ordered the beef hash with an English muffin and hash browns (I don't love hash browns, but the server recommended it saying, "Every else doesn't know how to make them." Sold). After just a few minutes and two bottomless coffee cups later, my food arrived on a platter.

If I am 100% honest, my food was disappointing only because a place this archaic would have the best food in the state. It just seemed to fit. Sadly, the food was average. The beef hash was flavorless, my English muffin burnt, and the hash browns were over cooked (I guess every other place makes them wrong by NOT burning them?!).

Still, I rate this place a 4-star because it is a hidden gem in the sense that it's timeless and a true local cafe. Just set your expectations accordingly. Oh, they take credit card.
