Rubio's Coastal Grill

This is about as good as fast food gets! We southern Californians obviously love our fish tacos, and I would never claim that these are the best in San Diego county, but they are delicious and provide a level of convenience that can't be overlooked. Ok this visit, I had the new Baja lobster tacos and they were killer. Love this place!

I stopped in at Rubio's after my work out. I'm on a special diet right now where I am watching carbs/sugars, proteins and fats. Rubio's has a chicken taco that is under 10grams of fats & carbs/sugar and has a decent amount of protein. I ordered mine with the salad mix which was fresh and not wilted but I used the green salsa in lieu of dressing. The tacos came out cold, but I was hungry so I ate them anyway. All in all, I would go back in a pinch now that I know it meets my dietary requirements. They have an updated revised nutritional value chart which made it easy to see the breakdowns. So..that's about all I have to say on that..

I love the Taco Tuesday deals. 3 original fish tacos is filling for me despite my large appetite. I love the spicy salsa.

I drive over 7 miles to go to this one instead of the one in Oceanside in the Ralph's strip mall. The Oceanside parking lot is small with little parking. This one is in a large strip mall but in the back, almost hidden and it is bigger with plenty of parking, even during Tuesday nights. The service has always been very fast and friendly and plenty of space inside to eat and some places outside on the patio. It is clean and the line moves fast even on fish taco Tuesday nights. The food from the childrens' plate to the burritos has always been great with plenty of fish in the fish taco. (you can't say that about other locations)

We we're visiting from out of town and was way impressed. The food was very good and the service was prompt. I also had a cookie and it was also fantastic.
