Small place, fast paced. No one is going to care about your dining experience here. But breakfast items are good and inexpensive

First time visiting Union Square, and this place always had a line outside. My husband and I made sure to come back at a later time when it wouldn't be too packed. Saturday at 3-5pm was a perfect time! After lunch time and before dinner. There were only 2 cooks and they handled all the orders so well and the food was DELICIOUS. ???? The waiter, however, could have done a better job and made our experience that much better. He seemed upset and didn't check on us for refills or anything. I wanted ranch for my fries, and my husband wanted a refill. We also needed more napkins. He asked if we needed anything once we had been working on our food for almost 45min. and we were basically all finished. Just waiting for the check.
Nonetheless, great diner. Great food.

I love the Southern Comfort which consists of a Waffle, Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy & Two any style. It's like Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Dessert all in one. The Curry Chicken Mac & Cheese was yummy too &.the portion was huge!! It made two meals & you could eat it cold. The Corned Beef Hash & eggs with Sourdough Toast is also huge. The spaghetti Carbonara is also creamy, cheesy & delicious. I wasn't crazy about the Cherry Pie though. Service is fast. Oh & Fridays is New England Clam Chowder!!

I come to SFO once a year and always come back to the Pine crest. It is such good American counter food. I got the large fruit salad as a change this time, it was large and fresh. The usual burgers and salads are also excellent.

Pinecrest is by far one of my favorite diners in San Francisco! Great food, huge portions, and reasonable prices. The only bad thing about it is drain my past two visits to San Francisco, they were so busy and there were customers ahead of us waiting for tables that we could not get in to eat. But, that's good for business as it shows that they are doing something right. Keep up the great work, Pinecrest, and I hope that I make it there again soon!
