Great food with an excellent service. The miso scallops were fantastic. Would highly recommend. Careful it is pricy.
We went for the 6th anniversary dinner and found it a bit disappointing. The best dish was there tiny amuse of steak tartare. After that, the first course delicata squash was inconsistent- mine was much browner and tasted a bit singed while my friend's was more yellow and had more pomegranates topping it. The next course of squid ink raviolis filled with dungeness crab dud not live up to expectations. Raviolis were undercooked/too al dente, they were laid on top of avocado puree with too much lemon kick to it, and the celery root cubes were crunchy making them a strange texture compliment. Also the dungeness crab filling didn't do a great job of highlighting the crab flavor or texture.
My friend liked the duck breast on barley, but commented that she thought it was something we could make ourselves. I felt the meat was a bit tougher more cooked than I'd expected for a duck breast. The barley and creamy sauce with orange slices were nice in the dish.
There chocolate panna cotta was ok- smoked cream topping was odd - I'd have preferred smoked flavor to go in the chocolate part rather than in the cream if they really want to experiment with smoke flavoring.
Overall it was a disappointing dinner- I hoped for their big 6th anniversary they'd really have a flawless and impressive line up. Regular dinners at the supperclub seem to be ok, but I'll probably avoid their special occasion events in future.
This place was recommended by an old friend and it did not disappoint. They were kind enough to squeeze us in without reservations on their busiest night (if you go on a Monday definitely make reservations). The food was simple, delicious and expertly prepared.
Wonderful off the beaten path neighborhood restaurant. Their motto is comfortable food - no pressure and it's spot on. The seasonal Italian inspired food is delicious and the owners and staff are friendly and fun. Looking forward to my next meal.
