Small and intimate restaurant. Food was perfect! Expect to take your time for the full experience.

Top notch appetizer, great main course and excellent dessert, all for a very very reasonable price.

Dining room setting is quite private, and very comfortable.

The owner is also the chef, and he takes the order himself. Very friendly.

No wonder it is rated as one of the 10 best restaurants in the Bay Area.

    I recommend The Richmond highly.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere at a reasonable price. We had the 3 course price fixed menu and we were full and satisfied. I highly recommend The Richmond for a quiet intimate meal. It is like having your own private chef prepare a meal for you.

I will definitely be back. Great job!

New favorite place! Owner/chef John has created a gorgeous tasting menu with wine pairings. Three course price fixe, incredibly reasonable ($40 pp) in an overpriced city. When we couldn’t decide between the shrimp fritter with shrimp bisque or crab cake with shaved squash salad, John brought us both. Generous flow of well-selected wines. Each dining table is private, noise level is wonderfully conducive to conversation, and service is personal and attentive.

This used to be a great restaurant with good food, good affordable wine and a friendly staff. They've changed to a prix fix menu and the food is quite heavy. The owner is flexible if you have dietary restrictions which is good. The wine is still affordable and there is a wide selection. Overall, I probably won't return but it is at least worth a visit.
