great atmosphere and live music on occasion. food is pretty decent, definitely worthwhile for a visit.
Great place that hosts free music many nights; on a Monday, I watched a classical quintet play music by Mozart; yesterday (Sunday), I watched a four piece play Balkan jazz. Great cozy setting, with a lot of friendly people. Strongly recommended.
Also- remember to tip the band, and buy a drink to support the cafe!
A little hole in the wall place that we stopped in. They had the greatest band, a bunch of old time guys that get together and produce some high quality music. Great to see that type of community in a large city like San Francisco
Nice, "full-to-the-top" glass of Rose for $6. I just stumbled across the place one Saturday afternoon, and it was a pleasant surprise! Live five piece band, jazz, perfect for a sunny weekend wind-down!
It's a small cafe, but very lively. And due to a great location, it's always crowded. They've liquor licence, so at night it turns into a club. They've live performance as well. Best of all is that there is no cover charge. They've outside sitting as well, which is great and I've seen few friends hang outside and drink. It's also right next to NY style pizza eatery, so you can grab the slice if you get hungry. The restroom is small, and only one so it might get crowded. Sitting is very limited at night time, but you go there to dance and not just sit around.
