The Pig and Whistle

This is a cute bar with a fun atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and helpful with beer selection, even offering me tips on finding a non-IPA that I enjoyed. The food was just okay, typical bar food. They have a fun trivia night if that's your thing, but it does make it hard to chat if you aren't participating. Still, a cool place with a laid-back vibe. Definitely check it out!

Very nice pub with an old school vibe that seems to cater to British Isles tastes. They even had a great cask ale when we stopped in. Highly recommend for a laid back pint or four.

Prices are excellent for its location. Very much a neighborhood bar. Staff is always friendly. My one gripe is how the bathrooms and sometimes the back area of the bar smell like urine..... fix that and it could be a smashing place!

Great atmosphere of us old English or Irish type. Great roomy space(s), very friendly capable staff. The food is well prepared simple pub fare. Good.

This is my favorite and 'home' bar for me -- even though I now live in Berkeley. Both the staff and patrons are friendly, the prices reasonable, the food tasty (fish and chips are the best I have ever had, and the English breakfast is scrumptious). I've been coming for near on a decade and I don't think I'll ever stop coming. It's the sort of place you don't want to review online for fear of it getting too popular.
