this is quite an amzaing ramen shop i promise i dont work here they have awesome ramen and i think you should try it out. cuz i have a ramen pack of 3.
If you like rich flavored Japanese Ramen, Kurotaka’s signature ramen with the pork, chicken and soy sauce broth is a must try.
The broth itself is not really like “soup” base but more like chicken broth mix with garlic oil. It taste rich but not too salty. I was surprised and pleased by how the broth simply taste honest- like it was cooked for a long time to create the oily texture.
The Chashu was tender, I love it’s not just lean meat, it’s the true Ramen Chashu style with some fat and it melts right into mouth.
I took one star off from this review, because the Ramen noodle was overly cooked. It was getting a bit too smushy, though their broth really satisfied my Ramen craving.
I paired the Ramen with a Grapefruit soda.. It was so refreshing! I enjoyed this Ramen at the Millbrae Japan Fair. Will definitely purchase the Ramen again.
Pros: delicious noodle, starchy and brown. Cabbage had bite, pork was tender, and spice was piquant. Friendly service, jovial communal dining.
Cons: Small portions; you can't have too much of a good thing.
Kurotaka Ramen utilizes the same matt black truck when they were Wapioca (a boba business). Now they're back at the same location doing ramen. Don't expect a plethora of ramen choices or toppings, as they're limited to their signature Kurotaka and donburi rice bowls only. They range from $11-12 depending on what you get (cash only). They tout the magic is in the soup as their selling point. Bowl depth is limited to 1½ inches standard plastic multi-use with a blop of noodles and broth filled halfway. Veggies were plentiful consist of mostly napa cabbage. Surprisedly, I didn't taste any msg being used as chicken/pork broth were mixed together. Pork meat were coarsely minced and slither chicken pieces with skin attached provided more than enough protein. It literally made me wanting more. Lastly, their Wapioca business is not dead. However, I can't release any details on their expecting location. Don't worry, it's in SF.
