Delicious and interesting Szechuan cuisine. We had the orange chicken which was amazing, the beef chow fun, also very tasty. The dumplings were really good. The wrap was thick and very tasty. We also had the spicy green beans, cauliflower in chili oil and the mapo tofu, which was great and the spiciest dish. Everything was medium spicy with a light tingling / numbing sensation. So for those who like some heat but not too much, this place is good. Highly recommend
An authentic Chinese restaurant in the real Chinatown, San Francisco it's range of dishes is always cooked beautifully, not overcooked. And there are some unusual delights, from pig's stomach to cuttlefish, from pig's trotters to squid balls. It's short on plastic American-Chinese fare, and the tastes are intense and satisfying.
My extended family went to Spices several weeks ago and hands down, it is one of the very best restaurants off of Clement. That is saying alot given how many authentic Chinese restaurants there are near Clement. My son in law grew up in China and he ordered for us and agreed, the food was exceptional. On top of the delicious food, the ambiance is way nicer than anything else in the area. Love this place. Our new Go TO!!
The food is delish, spicy, and are big portioned. Everything I tried there so far has been great, but those dry braised eggplants...man, those are pure gold! Great staff, nice and clean restaurant, is one of those places you just keep going back to.
Great flavors and heat! Came in for a quick bite. Next time I’m coming with a bigger appetite so I can try more dishes. Pork dish was clean fun. Eggplant dish was amazing, somewhat crispy on the outside and soft, lava hot inside, with a fresh pepper heat, spicy!
