Katani Pizza

If I could rate more stars I would this place deserves the whole world. The owner is the sweetest woman and is always in the shop checking in and taking orders and it really shows her dedication and pride in her food. There is a very welcoming atmosphere which brings the community and anyone who is in there together. Most places in the city are so focused on being trendy they miss the target on everything else. This is not the case here. The other night I went in with friends visiting SF and they were impressed by not only the food, but how the owner interacted with the staff and customers. We ended up staying a little after we finished our food because it was movie night and the whole shop was having a good night watching a funky movie. With everything in mind, this place is an absolute gem with incredible pizza and cool people too. This is my go-to pizza joint and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a genuine slice of za.

The owner is an amazing host. She invited my two kids with candies and let us choose what we wanted to stream from her Netflix account onto the restaurant's screen. She took a sit with us and shared some cool stories about her origins in Eastern Europe. The pizzas are good. I specially recommend the Margherita.

It's great to finally have a great pizza place at this spot again. It used to be the location for Panhandle Pizza that had cornmeal crust which won a lot of awards. They sold it and it went downhill. The new owners bought it and made it into their own. It has thin crust pizzas with names that make me chuckle. My absolute fave is "Every Breath You Take" which comes with chicken, lots of garlic and alfredo sauce. They have traditional red sauce too with traditional toppings such as the Margherita. The owners is playing around with new menu items and I can't wait til she perfects the white clam pizza ala New Haven style! I also LOVE her baked meatballs as a side. It comes with 3 large meatballs and red sauce that I use to dip my pizza crust or save the sauce to make a small batch of pasta as a midnight snack. What a hidden gem that is only a few blocks from Golden Gate Park and the Panhandle. Make sure to ask about their student discount.

Good pizza with fresh ingrediants and the woman behind the counter was awesome! She chatted with us first and helped us pick out a pizza and then she cut fresh tomato just for us to add on to our pizza after it was baked. Super friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food and clean restaurant. I love how kid friendly the owners are and we can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended!
