Beretta is one of my favorites and continues to exceed my expectations each time. Went recently on Mother's Day brunch, the food was amazing (3 pizzas, walnut bread, meatballs, caesar salad), ours drinks were never empty, and the staff went above and beyond. I truly can't say enough good things about Beretta - highly recommend!
Went to the pop-up on Divis last week! Food was fantastic, service was abysmal. We were sitting there for 20 minutes before we were finally able to flag down the hostess and let her know a waiter hadn’t come to our table yet. Took another 20 minutes just to get a drink. Usually I don’t really notice service, good or bad, but feeling like you’re invisible isn’t cool. The waitress was unapologetic about the wait. Walnut bread and fruitti di mare were amazing. Cool concept but they need better staffing.
Cocktails:
- Valenciana (vodka, orange, lime, prosecco) was not really that balanced. Does not fall apart, but things are not working that well together. 3/5. Not the #1 cocktail place.
Primi:
- Lasagna bolognese fontina. Beautiful. A very decent lasagna, homemade style. 4/5
Dessert:
- Pistachio semifredo. Just next to perfect, very enjoyable. 5/5
Service:
- Very nice, depends on who’s in charge of your table. I love Italia and Italians. One of the places in SF where I experience it again. 5/5
Interior:
Nice. 4/5
Note:
I was the last to leave the place for the day. That’s why there’s no guests on the photo. Otherwise pretty crowded.
Update:
Walnut bread and Linguini frutti di mare are freaking amazing! 5/5
I LOVE BERETTA. I first moved to San Francisco back in 2011 and Beretta in the mission was the very first restaurant I had visited after moving here, so this restaurant has a special meaning.
Anyways, this was my first visit to the pop up and I’m glad we came. The food was great - I had the sausage pizza, my partner had the seafood linguine, and we started w the meatballs — all excellent.
And most importantly, I forgot about how great their customer service is. One of people in the table over dropped her fork on the ground - no big deal. But a server walking by happened to see and hear it and came back 15 seconds later w another fork, without being asked — she was simply attentive.
Long review, but I’ve always been and will continue to be a big fan of Beretta. My only hope is that the pop-up becomes a permanent fixture in NOPA.
I didn't get a photo of the mushroom piZza we got because we devoured it so quickly!! The seafood pasta was so incredibly delicious, and I am so happy I decided to go here last minute for dinner. The waitress kept checking in on us and making sure everything was okay and that was just so sweet especially during a difficult time . The olive oil ice cream was absolutely phenomenal!!! Overall the vibe was on point and the food was incredibly I'm so excited to come back.
