Had a fantastic experience in here with my kids. The food arrives quick and the customer service is just fantastic. Prices are reasonable.
Excellent food. Attentive service. Comfortable atmosphere. This is truly a wonderful spot.
We chose to sit at the bar to watch the magic in the kitchen happen. The kitchen staff were all very friendly and willing to share the secrets of their craft.
The fixed menu was all fresh seafood and produce that were creative and elegant. We did the wine pairing and all the pairings, with the exception of the Italian red served with the trout, were perfect complements to the food (the red was fine by itself, it just didn't match the trout very well).
I'd definitely return in another season to sample their menu again.
Perfection. Best dining experience I've ever had. We booked seating at the counter but found the heat from the cooking apparatuses was high and we switched with a couple at the window who wanted the counter. Worked out for everyone. Take your time and savor every detail of flavour. All foods sustainably harvested. Waste is minimized. This restaurant is well thought out and operated seamlessly. Service from staff is like a choreographed performance. You gotta treat yourself like this at least once in your life. Indulge!
Disclaimer: I am an amateur fine dining fan at best, and this was my first true fine dining experience in SF. But as a rookie to the gastronomy scene, this movie was absolutely exceptional. The atmosphere is so serene, the service is fantastic (featuring detailed verbal descriptions before every new course), and the food is outstanding. I had the 7-course dinner, and although each portion was quite small, after all seven courses I was quite full. The wine menu is also remarkable. You really feel like you're dining in Brittany!
Came here for a special birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Although a couple of dishes were not quite up to par (namely the good-but-not-great leeks and the thermally confused squash soup with mustard ice cream), they clearly take very creative risks in an effort to deliver the very best version that each combination of ingredients can offer. Two dishes that really stood out were the delectable squid ink boudin and the outright incredible and incomparable trout. Just ridiculously good. Service was outstanding, which you should expect from a Crenn restaurant. Highly recommend!
