Specialty's Café & Bakery

In the reasonable-food paucity of the Transit Center, Specialty works well for me. The food is quickly presented and it's real food. I wish they had some simple soups, but the filled croissants are good and the sandwiches are very good. Order at the in-store terminals or online so you can tip

Delicious cookies. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I had to pick up some cookies for a work meeting and everyone commented on how good they were. I was able to place the order over the phone, but you can also order online. I ordered an assortment of different types, but I only had the chocolate chip peanut butter cookie, which was great. They have a decent selection of lunch foods too. The only criticism I have is that they no longer serve Intelligentsia coffee. They appear to have partnered with Peet's, which in my opinion is a step down. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my order was ready on time. Specialty's has locations all over downtown, but this review is for the location at 500 Howard Street.

Love their coffee, desserts, sandwiches and croissants. The price is reasonable and ample seating area. The wifi strength is alright, but not good enough to get any work actually done. But the seating area is comfortable and peaceful. Would definitely recommend.

Great bakery & decent coffee.

Tasty ciabatta and coffee for breakfast, and always a good selection of the half-price day-old pastry. Cinnamon rolls are still good the second day.
