I went here for happy hour - their HH items are awesome! I was stunned at the portion of the chicken kaarage and gyoza - all for $5? Insane! The sashimi was amazing too. What a good deal!
The vibe inside is very quirky with lots of interesting decoration. The tables are for 2-4 people with one larger table that could probably seat about 6-8. The service as good.
I would definitely go here again!
Decided to go here for dinner with some friends and we loved how cute this place was. We came around 7pm on a friday and we were seated immediately. Some reviews mentioned it can get crowded during peak times. They also stay open late which is convenient. It was a bit difficult getting servers’ attention and some items were pricey for the portion, but everything tasted great and we loved the vibe here. We ordered the skewer sampler, kimchi remix, and garlic noodles with chicken. The sampler was great to try a variety of skewers and split it amongst the 3 of us. The kimchi remix was pretty good with the fluffy egg on top. I really liked the garlic noodles and it came with big chunks of chicken. We also got the yogurt soju cocktail and checked in for the free sapporo beer. The soju cocktail came in a little tea kettle and was a little strong but was still good with the meal. We also ordered the matcha cheesecake but it was such a small slice, we were a little disappointed but the flavor was really rich and had a strong matcha flavor. They also had a wall with little snacks like rice crackers, skittles, mints. Overall, i would go again for drinks. It can get pricey depending on what you get though.
Late night spot in SF?!! Yes please!
Happy Hour is also spot on with the amount of drinks, Izakaya bites and sushi~
It’s not comparable to Sakesan’s HH due to their distances without a car, but this place offers a cozy experience that is centrally located in a neighbourhood that is now popular for brunch and early dinner spots~
Been back here at least 3 times and it has not disappointed me yet.
Really good Japanese fair in a fantastic setting just outside Union Square. A great local spot for a variety of reasonably priced Izakaya style plates. This place is perfect for Japanese food other than sushi even though it’s still on the menu. Highlights were the ox tail, hamachi kama and the calamari. All served in eclectic and vibrant setting. Definitely must revisit. Dos thumbs up 👍👍
