This was a totally luck find. We happen to be out in the valley and wanted to stop somewhere for food. My only stipulation was I wanted something local. My wife found this out of the way place and it was right on the mark!
First of all it's by definition out of the way. It's off the main road in the middle of a warehouse district. Walking up to they have the quote "come a stranger, leave family" and I have never seen that be more true. By the time we were done stuffing our selves, we were kicking it with the family trading stories and having a great time.
On the food front, everything we had was great but the stand out winner were the fried Mac n cheese and the sausage sandwich BUT, ask Mama to sub the hot link for a German sausage. If Mama says she's going to toss slaw and other things on it. TRUST HER! If you ask for this, tell Mama "Lydia said to sub the hot link".
this is a place that We will go out of our way to stop at if we are anywhere near the area.
Great food! And an wonderful atmosphere. Just a warning... This is not fast food and they do run out of items. So be patient, it's worth it.
I don't take pictures of my food, I eat it, though I may consider it next time we visit here to add to this review. Portion sizes are not for the light eater. The average couple could probably share a plate and both leave satisfied. Drinks in full size Mason jars, excellent lemonade and sweet teas as one would hope to get in a southern place. Prices are lower than the average chain establishment which is great, but after a longer than average wait you see exactly what you paid for and it seems unreal. $12 for the Garlic burger, a burger that I was warned rarely gets finished in one sitting. Figured okay, maybe it's stacked up high like a McCheapo but no, this thing was about 4 inches tall and 6 inches long and cooked to perfection. Crispy, cool veggies, perfectly balanced garlic mayo, fries from fresh oil...burger heaven on a plate. Definitely going back to see those good folks, I've made it a mission to sample every item they have to offer and I will see that mission through. You cannot leave that place disappointed.
Mama Weber was flying solo tonight and there was no shortage of Southern hospitality! From the time we walked in (on crutches) until we walked out we received not only 5 star service, we also enjoyed the most incredible burger we’ve ever had! Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!
Love from Utah!
