I Love This place. Wonderful flavorful food. Sweet people!
I consider it to be comfort food. Will go as often as possible!
Fantastic wholesome Ethiopian food! Simply wow! The food was absolutely delicious. It's super healthy and tastes great. Not oily or greasy or salty, just yummy!
We grabbed a 2-person order that came with 2 servings of injera (Ethiopian flatbread) and 3 sides. Spicy lentils, cabbage+carrot, and red beets. Everything tasted great!
They make everything fresh here. The owner and chef are both gluten-free so their whole kitchen and all cooking equipment is entirely gluten-free with zero cross-contamination! Their injera flatbread is made from teff flour with no wheat at all (unlike some other Ethiopian places). Everything is dairy-free as well. So this is really a fantastic place to bring friends with food intolerances!
They just added a nice outdoor seating area which makes it a great spot to stop and enjoy the meal on-site. Definitely going back here! Can't wait for them to expand their hours.
We were so excited when we found out that SLO has an Ethiopian restaurant, and it was DELICIOUS! We ordered a "full order" for myself, my husband and our two young kids. We had the Spicy Misir Wot, the Ater Kik Alichhawot, and the Beet roots & carrots. They were all delicious, but our favorite was the spicy Misir Wot (even the 4yo loved it). We ended up getting another order of injera to finish off our sauces.
The lady who took our order was super nice and very informative. She told us that everything is gluten free, as is all of the equipment they use, which wasn't a concern for us, but we have friends with severe Celiac's who would benefit from that knowledge.
They have a small outdoor eating area with two picnic tables and an umbrella, and the employee told us they hope to get another table & umbrella soon. They are also making a great effort to use only compostable and recyclable packaging/utensils/etc, which is great, IMHO.
The only negative we saw was that the full size didn't completely fill us (the 4yo was still hungry after) and with the extra injera, we were at over $30. Just wish the portions were a little bigger for the money. But everything was very well made and tasted great! We'll definitely be back!
Everything we ordered was delicious!! The lentils, greens, and roasted veggies had such good flavor and spices- absolutely perfect! This is an amazing addition to SLO!!
Amazing!! Wonderful flavor and perfect spice in the Spicy Misir Wot. All three of the dishes we got were fantastic and the Injera was Amazing. On my list of favorite places to get food from. Very kind and fast service.
Amazing food - I have truly never felt so satiated *and* energetic after sharing three sauces with their injira. The food was a little bit pricey but, for the taste and wholesomeness of the meal, it was well worth it. The owners are incredibly kind as well :)
