If you want an old-fashioned, classic menu with good service and a great bar - try Val's. The portions are generous and the menu has everything you could want. Friendly bar with a lot of regulars.

Great place for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Love the atmosphere in the restaurant. Friendly service and great food !

Have not updated their online menus in a long time. Online shows their prime rib at 25.95 and when you get there, it's 38.95; so that indicates how old their online menus are. Food is just ok as tiger prawns are quite small in size and so were the fried scallops. It was a bad night for the deep fryer when we went. French fries were white color and soggy in a puddle of oil, and the waiter insisted that that is the way they are cooked. I had to insist that they simply cook the french fries longer and drain them before plating. The batter on the scallops were falling off when we got them, and the fried calamari was fried in clumps as they grab a handful and threw in in the fryer and never separated them as they cooked. The onion rings were also soggy and the batter falling off. The prime rib was fine but a little bit tough for a prime cut (maybe they are using choice cut?). The pressure cooked fried chicken was only warm. I think the highlight was the hamburger which looked delicious. Oh and at 7pm they already ran out of the dessert we wanted.

Great old school restaurant, mostly Italian well priced. Google menu prices are outdated. Maybe almost 20% too low. Great hamburger and ground beef.
Soup was great salads well sized and good. Live music playing in the background in the bar was a nice addition.
