Burma Silver Star was excellent! We had the tea leaf salad, garlic noodles, pork bamboo shoot curry, beef curry, fried shrimp salad, spicy fried fish, samosas, and fadula (ice cream, custard, boba, jellies, and rosewater) for dessert. It was all so delicious! Our favorite was the fried shrimp salad. The restaurant is pretty and comfortable, there was easy parking, and the owner and wait staff were so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was also pleasant and we were able to have great conversation at our table. I highly recommend it if you are craving delicious Burmese food!
A few years ago, this place was a Burmese restaurant with a different name and I was sad when it closed. Now I’m happy to hear they are back and remodeled. The place looks really homely and nice.
The food is really great. The soup noodles tasted like a chicken noodle soup but better! They were also kind enough to substitute noodles for rice for my grandmother who doesn’t like noodles. I definitely will be back!
I've tried a bunch of Burmese restaurants around the bay area, including many of the most well-reviewed ones - surprisingly this one ended up being my favorite! The food is delicious and authentic, from the excellent tea to the tea leaf salad - you know you're getting the real deal when that salad comes out without lettuce, which is the way it's served in Myanmar. Can also highly recommend the mohinga and garlic noodles which were both incredible renditions.
Besides all that, everyone we interacted with at the restaurant was super nice and attentive. We also loved the ambiance in the space - from the conversations at other tables that were in Burmese (always a good sign that you're in a place that's serving the authentic style of food), to the great photos of Myanmar on the walls, we really appreciated the care put into this space. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu!
What a treat to find this place in Daly City. So easy to get to from the Sunset and so much easier to park - I think we've found our new Burmese spot! The restaurant was spotless, and the depth of flavors in the pan tay were perfection, the tea leaf salad was one of the best I've had - even the house tea had a robust/full flavor, the owner says its straight from Burma and we say YUM to it all, we'll be back!
Exceptional food and service. Great tealeaf salad, curry and noodles. Wish i could acquire their tea leaves. Has promise to become a Daly City staple.
