The Refuge Menlo Park

Yep. Everything you heard is true. If you like pastrami, you've come to the right place. Got the toasted slaw #19, goofy fries, and artisan root beer. Was not disappointed.

This place is full of energy and plenty of Belgian beer selections. Although I didn't try the house favorite, the pastrami sandwich, I hear it's excellent. Perhaps next time I'll do the pastrami.

Had the Reuben and bread pudding. Both were amazing! Although the sandwich was massive; I should have gone for the half sandwich. It's a little loud for my taste (hard to hear each other), but the staff were nice and the atmosphere is lively.

Best Reuben sandwich in the area, big enough to split with a friend and share some fries or soup. The house-made corned beef is tender, juicy, and delicious. Excellent selection of beers, ales, and ciders that pair great with the food.

I love The Refuge! Both their San Carlos and Menlo Park locations are excellent. However, there is usually more seating available at the San Carlos location.

I always order The Reuben pastrami with garlic fries and some beer. Delicious! And the beer selections are top notch.

The only complaint I have is the price. $20 for a pastrami sandwich is a little steep.. but as you sink your teeth into the delicious rye, you quickly forget about the price.
