Duarte's Tavern

A classic American restaurant as awarded by the James Beard Foundation in 2003. Yummy food and excellent service. The pie supposedly is excellent too but I did not try it.

Years ago, I shared with a buddy of mine ... the need to visit SF Bay Area for business the following day... stating that my intentions had me traveling the “coast route”. He said: “...be sure to stop at Duarte’s for “ollalieberry pie” !!!” I had no idea what he was talking about ??? He shared the whereabouts and the history. That was back around 2008.... and every since .... if I’m headed north .... a stop and Duarte’s is on my agenda. Sometimes, having a great dinner there might not include dessert.... because, I’ll just bring a “whole pie” home with me !!! The “history lesson” surrounding this little place is rich .... and they have lived up to the reputation that they have earned ....

Came to Duarte's Tavern for dinner with a group of friends. This is a great down-to-earth place, food was good, services was excellent. Location is great after an afternoon on the coast. Definitely on my radar for returning.

Our favorite place on the California coast. Amazing seafood, beer on tap, half/half soup (artichoke & peppers) not to be missed. Save room for dessert for the amazing home made pie.

Love this place. Great food. Especially like the special soup they make that I have never seen offered at another restaurant. I think they call it green chili soup, but it is not at all like chili. Absolutely delicious! Great drinks too????
