Got the kids meal, the chicken hot and a side of ranch and honey mustard! Yummy and good portions. They had a bit of trouble taking my order and the chicken could have been a bit more tender but the food was out fast.
Delicious food. Definitely recommended. Maybe not the fastest service but worth the wait for sure.
It is always a pleasure to run into good food, even if you are waiting for the first flight out in the morning. I had been up since 3am to get my shuttle from the Union Square Plaza Hotel at 4:30 am, and suffer the agonies of checking bags and going through the TSA Checkpoints. This restaurant is located between Gates B12
and B14. The artwork attracted me at first, and then I decided to try the Chicken and the Egg sandwich. I was amazed at the explosion of flavor the sandwich had, between the fried chicken and the grilled egg. The beverages are seasonal and fresh. The meat is humanely sourced. I will return to this small outpost of good food inside the normal airport abyss.
I really love the fried chicken. I eat a lot of airport food and this is one of the best ones.
This one was at the airport so no need to worry about parking. I’d say it’s in a good spot. It’s the last food stop before you get to gate 17 for southwest. I’ve never tried Starbird before this was the first. The line was not too long.
I ordered three things on the menu two crispy chicken sandwiches and a tender box. My Starbird sandwich had the super slaw, mayo, avocado. The other sandwich was the free range ranch - tangy slaw, bacon, cheese and Greek yogurt ranch and also for their French fries.
The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I was surprised the chicken was not greasy and the bread was so soft like French bread. The first bite was amazing. The sandwich was huge so tried to cut it in half, So disappointing because the sandwich fell apart and it was just a big mess. Now I understand why they gave me a set of fork and knife. It was not a pretty site. Still get stars because customer service was ok and so was the food. The price was high but expected because it’s the airport. Not quite a great experience!
