More than half of the stores are closed. I hope there is a plan to restore this mall with more quality stores. The restuarant Lure is great, just need to bring more to the mall.
Sears is now closed leaving a huge empty space but Macys is still there with other shops and restaurants in between. A new grocery store is coming to fill the vacant old Vons building. The mall is not as crowded as it once was but if you don't like crowds this outdoor mall is the place to go and walk around. Plenty of parking. The architecture has not changed much since the 70s.
Someday I hope to move back to Santa Barbara and walk La Cumbre Plaza as I did as I child. I loved KB Toys, Kaisers, Marie Calendars.
I can not wait until Amazon is shut down for accepting bribes so malls can open back up and people will leave their homes to meet people.
Ghost town of once was, an esthetically wonderful and clean but not much to peruse and see. Macy's is a warehouse for a department store -sad really no one puts any love into the store. If Macy's became a fun shopping experience again like having The Cellar with culinary experiences, it might inspire the mall to become one entertainment and shopping island instead of a retail cemetery.
This was a nice change to a typical shopping mall. Completely outdoor plaza and the stores have a more boutique vibe. Friendly staff in all of the stores I visited, so I'll definitely be shopping here every time I come to the area.
